about us

What is anesthesia and why do I need it?

General anesthesia is when medications are given to induce a deep sleep while a patient has a procedure. This allows your dentist or doctor to perform longer, more complex procedures without dividing their attention between the procedure and sedation safety. Patients who are having procedures that are stressful, painful, or take a significant amount of time often benefit from anesthesia. Additionally, patients with physical, emotional, or developmental differences may benefit. Your dentist will be able to tell you if they recommend anesthesia for you or your child.

what we do

Who will care for me?

An anesthesiologist is a physician who has completed college, medical school, residency, and has passed written and oral national board certification exams in Anesthesiology to provide safe, excellent care to her patients. The anesthesiologist will stay with you from beginning to end of the procedure, monitoring breathing, oxygenation, heart rate and rhythm to ensure safety and comfort during the procedure. An anesthesiologist has the highest level of training available for anesthesia and sedation. We also bring specialized emergency equipment with us in the unlikely event of a medical emergency.

insurance

Do you take insurance?

The fees for professional anesthesia services provided by Stratus Anesthesia are separate from your dental or medical bill. Stratus is not an in-network provider for any insurance company, which means that you will be responsible for payment on the day of your procedure. However, we will provide a detailed bill that you can submit to your insurance company, who may reimburse you directly for part of the anesthesia fee.

Payments

What forms of payment do you accept?

Stratus Anesthesia accepts all major credit cards and ACH transfers.
